My name is Lobna Harris. I am a graduate student pursuing my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of South Florida. As the daughter of immigrants, I know what it is like to have to balance multiple identities and roles, and to feel the pressure of expectations about how things “should look”. My approach as your therapist is to meet you where you are at and help you go where you want to go.

I operate from a lens informed by Emotionally-Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy to help with issues like repairing attachment wounds, communication breakdown, and easing life transitions. My goal is to bring to light the patterns and cycles keeping you and yours from healing past hurts, and help you alter these patterns to unlock your growth.

I seek to provide culturally-sensitive care, so as your therapist, I approach with curiosity, not assumption, about the path that has brought you here. I have a particular interest in working with individuals, couples, and families in how to rewrite their stories, deepen their understanding of one another, and work on how to best support each other.

Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and I’ve spent much of my career helping people navigate some of life’s more difficult, complicated, and sometimes downright overwhelming moments.

I’ve worked in just about every corner of mental health and social work, from private practice and crisis intervention to psychiatric hospitals, schools, hospice, and medical settings. If there’s one thing all those experiences have taught me, it’s that people are complicated, life is messy, and there’s rarely a one-size-fits-all solution.

My approach to therapy is pretty straightforward. I believe in being genuine, having real conversations, and creating a space where you don’t feel like you have to filter yourself or say what you think a therapist wants to hear. I’m not here to judge you, lecture you, or pretend I have all the answers. I’m here to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, recognize patterns that might be holding you back, and figure out what you actually want to do about them.

I draw from approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), but I don’t believe therapy should feel like someone is reading from a textbook. Sometimes that means learning new ways to manage anxiety, depression, or stress. Other times, it means having an uncomfortable conversation, challenging an old belief, or learning to accept the things we can’t control while taking ownership of the things we can.

I also believe therapy doesn’t always have to be so serious. There’s room for humor, honesty, frustration, and everything in between. You can laugh, cry, vent, swear, or show up not knowing what you even want to talk about that day. That’s okay too.

At the end of the day, my goal is to help you better understand yourself, feel more confident in your decisions, and develop the tools to navigate life’s challenges in ways that feel authentic and meaningful to you. I want our work together to be something you can carry with you long after our sessions end.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Sometimes, simply being open to exploring what’s going on in your life is enough to begin moving toward something better.
